Welcome to Mysterious Books - 2013
Mysterious Books was founded in 2005 by myself, Simon Halliday, and is the home of my fictional schoolboy detective Peter Black.
There are three published Peter Black mysteries to date, suitable for ages 8 years and upwards - all three are available from Waterstone's and other good book stores.
If you are a school teacher in Lancashire,
England, then you should know that I'm planning local school visits in 2013. I will be happy to give talks and workshops, read excerpts of my writing and answer questions for your class. Also I run short story competitions with book vouchers and signed books as prizes!

I visited Norden High School in Rishton this morning to give a talk to over 100 children about reading, writing and my own books. I set a short story competition and will be returning there in October with the results. It was a lot of fun - the students all got involved and came up with some great ideas.

Our celebration of World Book Day 2013 was a great success. I worked with a class of children at a fantastic primary school in Colne, East Lancashire. We were reading books, creating characters and stories, and generally having a lot of fun! I'm returning in a few months' time to give the results of the short story competition. I genuinely can't wait to read the stories - the kids were great!
